    I no longer maintain the calendar in NYSkies for these events. It 
ended up that just about every one relies on NYC Events alone and 
checks for updates in the NYSkies message room. In addition, the 
calendar printout from the Yahoogroups website was terribly ratty. 
    I now group events under a single heading for each date. This also 
makes NYC Events more compact and easier to scan thru. 
    An other new feature accommodates the frequent inquiry: Is such-&-
such place having a meeting this month? Now, I have a list of places 
and sponsors. If the entry has events for this month, I give the 
dates. If the entry has none for this month, I give the contact. 
This table replaces the former 'Recessed/off season' table.  
    Readers pointed out to me that in some situations a sponsor can 
not issue its activity schedule early enough to include in NYC Events. 
This hurts the sponsor big time! Not only for being under emphasized 
in NYC Events, but also for missing potential new visitors and even 
their current members. I'll promote these sponsors by putting a dummy 
entry for there events with a note to check with the contact. 
    A warning about the talks at Sci Ind Biz Liby. The doors close 
punctually at the start time! You can not get in if you arrive late. 
Please get into the Library's lecture room BEFORE the start time. 
    The New York Academy of Sciences starting this year charges $20 
admission for its public lectures; they were previously free. 
    I welcome three newcomers to NYC Events: Van Vleck Observatory, 
Astronomical Society of Greater Hartford (CT), and Staten Island 
Community Television. The Hartford club operates the public viewings
