Every 2 or three months, but they're cumulative.

The first service pack on our new AS/400 at the end of 2004 was 6 CD's 
(Not all full, probably a full 3+ though, service packs are spilt into
product area somewhat), and the OS had just been released a month or two
before that.

Vista is so much bigger that you're probably going to see huge SP's there too.
