Yum is a generic updater - a superset of the old RPM mechanism. The
'Yellow dog Updater Modified' is fully configurable. It can be pointed at
various repositories - including just a security repository. They have a
variable in yum.conf called 'pkgpolicy' that looked interesting, but the
MAN page doesn't contain any information on this field.
