Access to data on any type of file system via a driver is not a security
breach (what about NT's access to HPFS partitions or Linux's various
accesses?). That was a cry when NTFSDOS was first released and must be
understood. If the data is on the drive, access to it over the network would
then be considered a security breach. If the use of NTFSDOS is a security
breach, it's becaause physical access to the computer has been breached, not
because access to the data has been accomplished. Use of a non-native file
system is not a security feature.
If you want security to data on the drive, 1) limit physical access and 2)
encrypt the data.
