Ok...here is some interesting tidbits for all who are thinking about
switching to Linux or already have....
Imagine a mail server that runs for years without a reboot. Or a network
server that never crashes. It's not as far-fetched as it sounds. Hundreds of
companies have discovered the secret to a trouble -- free network.
And it's not Windows. It's Linux. At it's best, Linux is near
bulletproof. And industry analyst International Data Corpaoration says
Linux's server market share has balloned in the year--growing %212 to some
750,000 shipments. Big guns like Dell, Hewlet-Packard, IBM and Oracle are
backing it!!
Lets go to Linux class 101:
Free Apps: Linux andmuchof its software is free,
Low Overhead: Runs on a 386 processor with only 16mb of memeory.
Bulletproof: Can operate for months or years without crashing.
Open Source Code: No need to rely on one vendor to fix bugs.
Not All There Yet: Installation and configuration can be a hassle.

You can download more then a dozen Linux packages that include Linux plus
software and tools from any of several sites, including:
Linuxberg (powerlinux.linuxberg.com) and Linux Online (www.linux.org)
However to avoid some setup headaches buy the Linux on CD-Rom.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then the big question is, what are you going to use Linux for?
If you're looking at it as a client operating system..be careful.
Installlation can be tricky and if you need some Window specific hardware
then you might as well stick with Windows.
On a server, however, Linux shines. Most version come with whatever you need
to set up a mail server, Web server, firewall, and more.
