Washington is wonderful! But the rainy season is starting soon-- we'll
have grey skies for the next 7 months or so, so if you're used to
sunny California weather this may not be the place to park. (Did I
say enough to dissuade MORE people from moving here?)
WA is friendly to hs'ing, but I'm sorry to say I don't know a lot of
specifics. My daughter is still seven and here you don't HAVE to sign
a declaration of intent until the child is eight.
There are some restrictions on parental teaching skills. There's a list
of criteria. One of them is having 6 or 8 semesters of college.
Another is taking one course on teaching for hs'ing parents. (I'm an RN
so I have the semesters in-- therefore I'm not real clear on the other
qualifying criteria.) If you don't meet this, I believe you have to
have a teacher supervising your family.
I know there are others here from WA who will either fill in the blanks
or simply correct me.
I'm sure glad you had a nice time here. The NW is a beautiful part of
the country!
Tell me again about your name and what it means. I think I remember it
is Arabic.
ttyl,
Sharon
