NA> I have a 94 Mercury Sable GS (sedan, not station wagon), and when

hunh? if the engine is not getting enough fuel, it won't accelerate...
it'll bog down...

however, from the description, as written... "turn left, engine
accelerates"... it almost sounds to me like something is pulling on an
accelerator cable... does your vehicle have cruise control? have you
looked under the hood for physical "hooking" of the cable that
may be happening? does it exhibit the same symptoms when sitting in Park
and you turn the wheels to the left? if so, then i'd look at everything
under the hood while someone turns the wheels to the left and straight and
see what i can see... it might even something as "small" as a
vacuum hose getting pulled and opening a leak in itself or some such...
