Your comparison between Motorola and non-branded batteries is accurate,
but there are plenty of third-party brand name batteries other than
Motorola that are every bit as good. The fact is, Motorola doesn't own a
battery manufacturing facility -- they have their batteries made by
contract manufacturing companies. Some of these companies also make the
exact same batteries for third-party vendors.
I would recommend always buying from a reputable vendor, but one need
not insist on any particular name brand on a replacement battery, as
long as there is some sort of brand on it.
