Was this the same for the echomail, or just the netmail itself?

Again, this sounds like it impacted all of the Fido mail, for the echoes
as well as the netmail whether routed or direct?

So this is all about how the mail is tossed to be sent out?

OK. I'm still not sure how all this answered my original question about
QWK being supported... But perhaps that's partly my fault, as I didn't
explicitly ask in what way QWK wasn't supported. If I understand this
correctly, it would appear that the only way qwk would work on the bbs
would be if one were coming in via the web as opposed to via telnet.
Which is obviously not the case, as I and Jean come in via telnet, and
the qwk works just fine for regular (ie local or echo) messages. So I'm
still a bit confused... :)

PX and SX are/were both maildoor/reader systems, with their own
propietary packet setups, just like Bluewave is/was, right? I know that
George Hatchew built in a certain amount of qwk support into BW; are you
saying that Hector didn't do any of that for SX/PX?

Netmail compatibility for qwk packets wasn't fully built into BW,
though. So I learned to put the net/node address on the first line of
the message for the tosser to pick up on. Each bbs software had a
different form that that needed to go into, of course... :) If one was
making native BW messages to go into a BW door, the addresses all went
into the header as one would have expected.

EK> Who ever thought the BBS Scene would still be around these days?

Some of us couldn't imagine the world without it, still... :) I've been
actively bbs'ing (as a user, not a sysop) since the early 1990's. My
then teenage son talked me into trying it out, using my interest in
genealogy as the hook. One of my early sysops pressed Zmodem and
Bluewave on me, and I was off and running... Been a user on many
different kinds of bbs software over the years... Maximus, Telegard,
Renegade, PCBoard, Wildcat, Synchronet, TBBS, EleBBS... and more that I
don't even remember their names. :)
