Hi Charlie,
By accident!!! I went into the readme.doc file of my time setting and
monitoring program to learn how to view the log, so that I could see if
my computer clock was getting more accurate (had been wildly
inaccurate.).
While paging down through the .doc, I saw a heading about the program
sometimes causing modem communications problems on some systems. Read
that, added the recommended switch to the autoexec.bat line for the
program (still not knowing if this was my problem!), fired up my modem,
and u/led a 950xxx byte file to three bbses without any problem!
Don't think I was happy and relieved...on one hand...and thoroughly
POed on the other? The solution to, actually the means to have avoided,
my MONTHS LONG FRUSTRATION was on my computer all that time!!! All I'd
have had to do was read further in the .doc file than the Install and Run
sections! B:))
Oh well, my granddad used to say, "If you don't use your head, you'll
end up using your feet!" Maybe that's why my feet are so big and so
flat!
BTW, never knew about the TSR removal solution. Guess everyone on the 4
modem echos where I asked for help thought it was so basic that everyone
knew it and that I'd already tried it without success. Haha!
Thanks again, Charlie!
Bob
