       The Fn commands are modem specific...  for example.. on
       one of my old Zoom modems... F0 does nothing, while F1
       does... (just like yours)... but on a newer Zoom modem
       the Fn commands set the desired DCE rate (bps)...
       One usually things of the "standard AT command set" as those
       commands that are universal with all modems... ie..
       ATDT, ATZ, &C1, &C2, &D1, etc..etc..
