Thus, on 7 Sep 96 at 7:48 PM, that Frank Swarbrick said to Kenneth Newman:
FS> Speaking of Chicago, do you know what album that "Only The Beginning" (I
FS> think that's the title) is on? I was channel flipping when I heard it
FS> playing on, of all places, the Democratic National Convention. Anyway, I
FS> sat there a while and watched just to listen to that song...
"Beninnings", on _CTA_.
FS> As regards to CTA, I have heard the whole thing once or twice, but not in
FS> ages. Is the song "Free Form Guitar" as bad as I remember? Yikes! The
FS> rest of the album is good, in any case... I'll have to buy it someday.
FS> Does anyone know if the one disk set has any songs edited out?
"Free Form Guitar" was a Kath showcase. What one man could do with a Fender
Stratocaster, a Showman amp with a twin 15 bottom, and a Bogan P.A. amp used
as a pre-amp... We will not see his likes again. [Although that guitarist
for the Spin Doctors sounds a heck of a lot like him... 8) ]
The one-disc has all the glorious 76:32 minutes on it.

... Now Playing: "Free Form Guitar" -- _Chicago Transit Authority_, 1969.
