Are you the same Brandi that passed her EMT test with flying colors on the 
EMS net?  If so, congrats!  You might be interested in taking a Wilderness 
EMT course once you've been in the field a little while, too.
I haven't had time to keep up on my reading here of late, so I don't know if 
someone has suggested this or not, but have you contacted your county EMA 
director? I was pleasantly surprised to find that mine was not only 
interested in our SARDOG program, but has plans for getting his own pup!
He/she might be able to put your community in touch with other resources to 
further your SAR efforts.  Best wishes with your effort!
