I miss that occasionally.... that's another thing that comes to mind when i speak of things being shoehorned into fidonet... the message specs for fidonet messages allow for up to 36 characters for the user names (to and from) and 72 characters for the subjects... another silly item is that soft carriage return that QWK stuff uses... its the lowercase i with an apostrophe over it instead of the dot... that's actually a character in other languages... the specs say that in fidonet, it is to be ignored as are any linefeeds... a hard carriage return marks the end of a paragraph... this allows systems to word wrap messages at their own margins... for example, i'm currently reading and writting on a screen that's 132 columns by 50 lines ;) )\/(ark* Origin: (1:3634/12) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 3634/12 106/2000 633/267 |
