Yes, there's a reason, but it's off topic for this echo.  The point was that
with each PC, there are different reasons some things work the first time,
and some have to be twiddled.  Zip drives on NT 4.0 are a case in point.
Mine worked the first time, no twiddling, yet others have problems.
