Hot soapy water normally does the trick...

CRC head cleaning spray or some other spray that leaves nothing behind and 
doesn't damage plastics should be OK. For an occaisional clean, spray it onto 
the heads and pinchroller through the slot you put the tape on. For a proper 
clean, remove and open the drive, spray some cleaner onto a cotton bud and 
wipe that on the heads/pinch roller (basically anything the tape comes in 
contact with) to remove any gunk that's built up. 
That or take it in to someone to get it cleaned professionally, which would
probably be better in most cases :-)
