Hi,

Just yesterday I was going through about week of mail and remember

someone writing about Dynalink 1433 being cheap USR imitation and

having poor performance.

Just today I have received this (only fragments quoted):

> The reason I ask is that, you gave me an init string of AT &F1
&K0 &Y0

> = s15=3D136 &W0 &W1 for a internal DYNALINK that I purchased off you.

> I used the modem for about two months and as far as performance and =

> connect speeds go it was the best modem I have owned. I say owned =

> because I have sold it and purchased a USR Sportster voice.

> The internals of the Sportster are the same as the Dynalink (I think)

> = but I can only manage a 28.8 (and sometimes a 21600) connect to my =

> Internet Service Provider, whereas with the dynalink it was a solid =

> 31.6k EVERY TIME.

Doesn't look like simple rules (you get what you've paid for, big

US brand name against cheap Taiwanese company) apply.

Cheers,

Tom
