subject: New Message Editor for Adept

Happy Holidays,

I've had some time of late to squash a bunch of bugs in my editor and
thought I'd announce it's availability again.

jadept.zip can be found on my web page or my bbs and ftp site.

What is it?

JAdeptWebEd is a Java message editor for Adept-style message bases. The
"Web" in it's name is there because I hope to make it usefull
from a web page someday.

Some basic Features:
Local, Echo, and Netmail capability
Email (if you are connected to the internet it will send email. This way
you can do a quoted reply to an echo message via email)
Message Search
import/export of text
copy/move messages (not yet, in the works)
delete messages
Display kludge lines
Quoted Reply
Reply to another area
Network aware reply addressing

It doesnt support nntp yet but that could be added if there is a need.
What I do for nntp is I set up all my newgroups as echo areas, and use GIGO
to gate the messages to/from the internet. That way you can read and reply
via the message editor and you dont have to use Adept to reply to newsgroup
messages. GIGO also allows you to connect to more than one mail server (I
use 4) where Adept is limited to 1. The Email capability is great. If you
run Adept's internal email capability you probably quickly found out that
using an external message editor like Golded would not allow you to reply
to email received via Adept. With JAdeptWebEd you can read and reply to
Email just like any other message area. The only restriction is that you
must be connected to the internet when you reply.

Requirements:

It was developed on a P-133 and it runs fine on that.
Java 1.1.6 or 1.1.7 (had a report that 1.1.4 had problems)

Thats it, there are only like 7 lines in the config file.
