subject: Yum Update

From: Mike N.

After installing Redhat Fedora from a June 2006 DVD, I decided to do the
equivalent of a Windows Update. So I did a 'yum update' and was offered
598 Megabytes of updates. I did install everything and the kitchen sink
to begin with evaluation. How big are the typical monthly updates
(security and other) for the average distribution?

In my real applications, my install would be much smaller for security
and reliability purposes.
