Well, the Boston Globe this week reported that San Antonio is NOT
going to give up the number one pick - which we all knew anyway.
Who will the Celts take at number 3? For some reason, Pitino is
not that enthused about Ron Mercer, at least on the record. When
pressed on taking Mercer, he praised him, but then said something
about using him as an off-guard or point-guard and "it's not that
easy" when asked "Why not take him?" Also, Antoine Walker had
made statements that "we don't need Ron Mercer, we need a big guy".
So it looks like, on the surface, that Pitino is gonna pass on
Mercer and go after Van Horn(? has his stock fallen?) or Battie
if he's there at number 3. Just a guess.
