out  the article: The Exorcist (Blatty), The Case of Charles
Dexter  Ward  (Lovecraft),  The  Intruder  (Beaumont),   The
Shrinking  Man  (Matheson), The Man with an Aura (Lafferty),
The Thin Man (Hammet), The Underground Man (Macdonald).
