her if you are able to help.  I am sure you would have some good ideas
for her.  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if you have already helped

Dear Amy, thank you for your help to me and my daughter Mari, pronounced
like Mary. The name I believe was our daughter's birthmom was Biddick. Her
name was in the William and Mary College yearbook for the year 1963.
MARI was born 3/27/64.  Her birthmom was named E. Ann Biddick from
Devon, S. Beaford, ENGLAND.  I believe the birthfather was Gary L. Young
from Frankfurt, Germany.  As I said, one of Mari's sons looks exactly
like him in every way. It is amazing how good God is...
Mari Catherine Elliott was the name we gave her.  She would have been named
...SOMETHING....BIDDICK, as her mother wasn't married, and in Virginia, an
unmarried woman would have to give her child her last name.  Mari was
legally adopted approximately 1 year from date of her birth and was placed
in our home when she was 2 months old. I would guess that was May of 1965.
This is only a guess, as I can't find her legal papers and we don't have
the funds to write or call Catholic Family Services in Norfolk, VA.  We
adopted Mari from Norfolk Catholic Family and Children's Services.  She
was born in Richmond and a Catholic Home, possibly St. Elizabeth's. I am
not at all sure of this name.  I don't think the home is there now.  Her
case worker from Catholic Family was Miss Elizabeth Crowling. The lawyer
was a Stuart Hays.  Our names are Robert and Patricia Elliott, or Bob and
Patti.  Our address was 4009 H. John Paul Circle, Oceana, VA from
1963-1966.  Our current address is 2705 Hemminger Way, Modesto, CA 95350

Well, Barbara, congratulations on being a grandmother so many times!
WOW!  I can certainly understand how busy you must be, being so
attentive to your new grandchildren and undoubtedly helpful to the new
mothers!  Every time I drive through Richmond, I always think of you
without fail.  I always manage to pass by Richmond at the worst possible
times to call or visit.  I do agree with you that it would be wonderful
to have another conference in Williamsburg.  I didn't attend the one in
Lancaster, PA.  I decided to make a contribution to the AAC TENOR group
instead.  In other words, I decided to put my money where my mouth was!
It was good to hear from you.  I hope we'll get together in the not too
distant future.  In the mean time, will you get back to me if you can
help Patti and her daughter Mari to find Mari's birthmom?  Or, feel free
to communicate with Patti directly!
