Just by stating a pit is a "fighting" dog you have a pre-concieved notion about
an animal due to the training by a human.  Pits are not born with an intense
desire to fight.  The fighting is a human trait "taught" to them.  You can't
place blame on a breed due to the stupidity of it's owner.

If a person decides they want a dog and they don't have either the time, desire
or knowledge to train said dog, then let them get two love birds.... both the
human and the animals will be happier in the long run.
