 If you feed live prey, you MUST remain at the tank until that prey is
taken.  Live mice have teeth, they can and will use them on occasion to
bite your snake or to bite you.  You then have a snake with an open wound
you have to treat, or a you with an open wound to treat.  Snakes do not
have the brain power to know that the confining and painful stuff you are
now doing is good for them.  It is hoped that you realize this having a
much higher brain to body mass ratio.

Ergo, if you can feed your snake on dead prey, both of you are better off.
