I`m not sure I expect anyone to save my life after a fire since the probability of death is pretty high. Should I survive a fire, I`d expect a human being to save my life, regardless of whether or not that person is woman or a man. Statistically speaking, it seems more likely that the person who would save my life - if that person is a doctor - would be a man since I live in a smaller city in a rural area. In rural areas, there are significantly more male physicians than female physicians although that gap is decreasing. If my doctor is a man, he`ll likely be older than if my doctor is female. If my doctor is a woman, she`ll likely be younger than the male doctors and a specialist of some kind. I don`t have the most recent data at my fingertips. If you do, I`d be happy to see it. the information I was able to get quickly from the net is, admittedly, 10 years old and that`s a significant lapse of time since the trend is towards more and more female doctors. In any case, the information I consulted as in the Western Journal of Medicine, in a November 2000 article entitled Physicians and Rural America by Roger A Rosenblatt and L Gary Hart. All of that being said, I`m not sure how this is relevent to the conversation. --- BBBS/LiI v4.01 Flag* Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) SEEN-BY: 633/267 5030/786 @PATH: 261/38 123/500 379/1 633/267 |
