This is with BW packets, and the problem is that the *door* is busted.
It's George's door for QuickBBS. 

I think there's the same bug in some other doors for Hudson message
base systems. So I wrote a fix for the two QuickBBS doors (Hudson &
Goldbase messagebases) and one for "generic" hudson bases.

As I recall, the "damage" is easy to spot, and easily fixable.
