BC> I live in Portland, OR, which is in Multnomah County, which has the
BC> library system that allows this.
BC> BBSNETS BBS is in Hawaii and is only accessible over the internet.

 LE> That's *way* roundabout.

LE> I'm in Portland. And I don't currently have a BBS running behind my
LE> mailer, but I can set you up as a point easily enough.

LE> Or you can try dialing into one of the other nodes in Net 105 that
LE> still has a BBS on it.

BC> I don't mind the way I do it because I get on the internet first then
BC> telnet to BBSNETS or use the library's Lynx program to browse the
 BC> internet.
BC> The main thing is that it is free, AND accessible through my DOS
 BC> terminal program.

Well, the nodes that still have a BBS are free, and shouldn't require
anything other than your terminal program.

BC> Dialing into the library is my ONLY internet access.

BC> As the local BBSes shut down, I stuck with BBSNETS.

BC> There was one local one that was still up, but a combination of poor
BC> phone lines to his area, and hard to figure out menus, on a B&W
BC> monitor, kept me going to BBSNETS.

Well, if I ever get mine back up, it'll be viewable just fine on a B&W
monitor.
