You sure can! The "trick" is entering the character for the
search function. To get it hold down the "Alt" key and type "12"
(without the quotes) on the numeric keypad. It is important to
use the numeric keypad rather than the numbers along the top
row. When you lift your finger off the "Alt" key the required
symbol appears in your search window then you proceed normally.
The "Alt scheme" is fairly widely used in DOS to allow entry of
nontypable characters. The number you type on the keypad is
simply the base ten value of the ASCII code for the desired
 character.
Qedit cannot find/manipulate the Carraige return or linefeed
characters which occur at line ends though its "big brother"
TSE, the commercial editor from Semware can do this.
