Hey Benny!

 BP> i like to get lowpowered atom cpu bassed servers in comming years

I'd hold out for this one;

https://ark.intel.com/products/97933/Intel-Atom-Processor-C3955-16M-Cache-up-to
-2_40-GHz

Also I see Supermicro is advertising a motherboard for it;

https://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/atom/A2SDi-16C-HLN4F.cfm

I couldn't find any prices but it looks like it should come in less than a
xeon-d embedded mutilcore system. Note that the above SoC has 16 single thread
cores which should yeild 16 penguins on bootup. :::evil grin:::

Also found benchmarks which indicated the C3955 was definetly up to the task of
pumping out new kernels, almost 5 per hour according to the graphic. Not too
shabby.

If I were in the market for a low powered kick-assed Atom system today the
above would be at the top of the list ... depending on the final cost. Also as
per my last post I'd only put 16G of ECC on there. I think that should be more
than enough.

Life is good,
Maurice

... Don't cry for me I have vi.
