subject: OS/2 Event utility?

Hi Roy,

PK> 1. YDBAUTIL. This package is available from HOBBES as
PK> RXUnn.ZIP, the last version I saw there was RXU19.ZIP, although
PK> I have used RXU13.ZIP. This is my preferenced tool, its from
PK> the IBM EWS (Employee Written S/W) suite and can be very useful.

RJT> I have two files here:

 RJT> rxu11.zip 106891 ZI2 21-Jun-93 23:21
 RJT> rxx19.zip 151631 ZI2 03-Feb-94 00:04

RJT> These are not at all the same thing.

I haven't looked at the files themselves, however I see that REXX Tips and
Tricks reports that RXU1A.ZIP is now around. I must upgrade one day....;-)
Considering it took me from the time the Warp 4 CD arrived in the DAP
program, until September this year to install Warp 4, I am probably not in
such a hurry now as I was in those days...

RJT> Perhaps the second file is the one you refer to here.
RJT> The first one contains the util you mention, though
RJT> it looks like maybe I should snag a slightly newer
 RJT> version?

Although I was quick to join the OS/2 2.0 Beta program (I was using 1.3 at
the time) these days I prefer to stay a few months behind everyone else, I
spent enough time backing things out to recover my work......;-). Sometimes
I actually prefer to stay off the "Bleeding" edge of technology.

RJT> I'm wondering if this is going to be a problem when
RJT> both cmd files are invoked on system startup.

Thats simple to solve. Launch the SERVER from STARTUP.CMD, and once the
SERVER has set up the PIPE, before it enters the main loop, have the SERVER
launch the CLIENT code using the START command. That way everything starts
in the right sequence.

Regards..........pk.
