I could easilly see why someone who's had a "great love" would find another... it's just not "common" for people of that age, after such a relationship as he had with Tandy, that "only" two years later he would marry again. Then again, there are ways of looking at it that make it perfectly obvious he'd marry again. Guess I just didn't go with one of those when first typing about it To my way of thinking it's no tribute to Jessica if his life stopped when hers did. There were things she wanted to do yet, that he did. If he'd called up in a ball after she'd died, he would never have done them. That he was so "alive" was one of the things Jessica loved about him for all those years. That he remained alive enough to be open to new opportunities, to be able to love again, to take a chance on marriage when he was already a senior, is proof that he didn't stop being who she loved. To me, that was much more romantic and touching than it would have been if he'd gone into seclusion and spent the rest of his days alone, lonely, and moaning.
