If you have good soil the earthworms will find their own way to
your yard.  If you don't the ones you buy at the bait shop will
leave.
I have very sandy soil, but I've been gardening in the same spot
for quite a few years now.  When I started gardening I never saw an
earthworm. Over the years I've added tons of organic matter to
the soil.  Now I have a pretty good population of them. They
found their way here on their own somehow after the soil
conditions got more to their liking.
