Hello All,
I just bought an AOR AR-8000 the other day ago (haven't
received it yet), but I was wondering if anyone who owned one could give
me their opinion of the radio. A friend of mine has one and he let me
borrow his for about a month and I really liked the radio. Now, about 9
months later, I'm buying one.
Thanks in advance!

That is probably the main reason. As someone stated before, they
manufacture scanners (and others) for a big market : North America, so
why bother to make many versions of the same models. One kind should
be enough for all the continent....:)
