I think he was the first to portray an amateur who used pure reason to
deduce the culprits.

haven't read that one yet, but I have a copy of WOMAN IN WHITE which is
moving up in the queue.

Yes, Molly the HouseGoddess agrees--she saw Julie Andrews in a tux once and
