FYI,
The version of ARJ in development is about ready for an ALPHA test release.
This means that ARJ needs a lot of tuning/feedback especially for the Win95
long filename support. It should be available later this month.
For those of you with Web/FTP access, check:

NEW FEATURES:
1) Win95 DOS long filename support.
2) Enhanced file version management (via chapter backups). Allows a series
of backups in a single archive and recovery of any backup.
3) Built-in ANSI escape sequence display handler for comments AND files.
4) Optional ARJ-PROTECT data damage protection feature allows repair of
damaged protected archives.
5) Enhanced customizable encryption module. Supplied module uses GOST CFB
mode.
6) New file integrity checking feature via HOLLOW archives (no compressed
data). You can verify your whole hard drive from a small "hollow" archive.
7) Supports MULTIPLE VOLUME UPDATING.
8) DISK/XMS workspace for processing large lists of filenames.
and a few more.
Regards,
Robert Jung
