if you get sources to compile it does not matter

you should get rid of multilib if not needed, problem is that you did not use
gentoo ebuilds ?, but did compile something in $HOME build dir, that finds
32bit runtime libs, and thus use it ? :=)

if 32bit is not found in compile time, what ebuild is missing then ?
