I'd go so far as to say that it's an error to dump ISO text to a QWK packet; but few QWK-handling programs bother with conversion. (MultiMail is one that does.) QWK messages normally don't include Fido kludge lines, and there's no other way to flag different character sets in QWK. :-( LE> What if the original text has a 227 character in it? Does QWK "escape" LE> that character? Or introduce an unwanted newline? There's no provision for escaping it, so it would have to be converted. ...
