subject: WinWord 2: Not enough memory?

Hello All.
I am using Word for Windows v2.0, and recently when attempting to Update the
Statistics for documents I am starting to receive a message that looks like
this:
"There is not enough memory to complete this operation."
There is an OK button below this; clicking it returns one to the Statistics
window from which the failed Update attempt was made.
I can't quite understand how this could happen. It worked just fine before,
and currently I have even MORE memory than before it happened.
In order that people can better help, the pertinent specs are as follows:
WINDOWS VERSION: Win 3.10 with Win32s 1.30c
CPU AND MEMORY CONFIGURATION (current): 486DX2/66, 20 MB RAM, 1 MB swap file
(perm).
CPU AND MEMORY CONFIGURATION (before upgrading - the error did not occur
until after the motherboard upgrade): 486DX/33, 8 MB RAM, 12 MB swap file
(perm).
It should be noted that other memory-intensive applications e.g. Chessmaster,
Doom, Heretic, etc. work just fine (i.e. it does not appear to be a hardware
problem). The problem appears to be limited to updating document statistics
in Microsoft Word for Windows.
