VB> 1) If I want to make 16 bit Windows 3.1 type executables -and- Windows

xbase++ is win32 only, so for 16bit windows you have to use clip4win or
fivewin.
VB> 2) Have you tried XBase++? I'd like to hear about your experience with

xbase++ is not ready yet. i got second release of "early experience version"
last week and it is much than number but, there are still a lot of problems
left. gui-painter works _very_ slow and generates buggy code sometimes, large
programs (source > 1MB) break after startup (same in os/2-version). but i
think it will get better in the next months, and short applications run quite
well. i use os/2-version of gui-painter, it is not fully compatible with
win32-version but for my little tricks its ok. biggest ported piece of code
(no gui) has about 600kB and works ok, even in a network concurrently with
the dos-version.
