The "Intenationales Teleskoptreffen Volgesberg" developped to one
of the biggest or may be THE biggest Telescope Meeting in Europe. More that
1,000 attendees collected this year to the mountain of Vogelsberg 60 km
next to Frankfurt /Germany.

While there were countless of telescopes shown, I updated my webpages to
include some of my friends scopes to the list. They can also be reached
from my
homepage at "other telescopes" or my "ext. links" list:

Erhard Haenssgen's 1.07 Meter f/4.5 Leviathan dominated the scene. The tail
was long behind that scope, so I got just a short look at M51. Despite
beginning dawn and too small magnification, I was close to fall off the
ladder by the amount of details seen in the spirals. See pictures:

J”rg Peters showed again a new all aluminum scope, but this time a 14"
air travel one at under 14 kg (30lb). I couldn't resist to make the mirror
for that powder coated beauty:

Uli Vedder came up with a beautiful 10" Bino. Each scope can be
collimated independently from parallel adjustment. Changing the eye
distance and readjust for parallelism was a breeze.

Ruediger Heins' 24" f/4.7 with 6 trusses and a low profile mirror box.
The mirror he made himself, and it's a really good one:

Achim Strnad's 14" with it's 4" Newtonian finder (Alcor)

A portable old planetarium of Michael Koch:

We made this year again a mirror making workshop, for which I organized
Borofloat blanks and grinding material, to satisfy the Karborundum Mania of
the people. The mirror making activities in Germany are dramitically
growing. See impressions here:
http://www.hanf-poos.de/stathis/itv_workshop/galerie2003.htm

We had it all: Sun and stars, hail and thunderstormand even relatively
strong Northern Lights. See pictures here:

And this is Walter Kutschera the restless organizer of the ITV. If I had
his arms, I would make meter mirror with a full size lap by hand
