    I use Squish, but I did set the messages to the medium, not max size,
because I don't have lots of memory.  I might try that and see what
happens.

    I have seen that problem too and I am not sure what you can do to fix
it nice execpt to edit files.bbs and fix the ones that need it. 
Personally, I don't carry lots & lots of files and I do mine manually. 
I use a download counter and set the wrap around to 39 which lines things
up with the 1st line.
One thing you might try is to have the description come in on the 2nd line,
then you could go in and fill in the 1st line.  Lots of work, but looks
good.
You might try AMU (Automatic Maintance Utility) and see how it works.
