Robert Fagles discussed his new translation of the "Illiad
and Odyssey, going into specific detail on the Greek to
English crossovers. It was followed by extensive readings
of the Odyssey by Jason Robards and Kathryn Walker. It was
quite powerful as Mr. Fagles first read the passages in the
original Homeric Greek which I didn't know was poetic and
meant to be heard and not read ...much of its power being
meant to only touch the ear .......to share in the actual
sounds .........yes, a very strong and most moving 2 hours.
Though I had read the Odyssey twice, there is an ever more
   to know.............

It was a nice top off as I had seen the movie "Titanic" on
the large screen earlier in the day .....and it was one of
the most powerful media experiences I've ever had .......a
closest to being there. I believe we are not far from epic
synthesized realities (not "quite" holodeck ......yet! .
