Go into control panel->modems, get properties on your modem driver, click
the connection tab, then advanced.

Turning on "Record to a log file" records quite a detailed description
of the exchanges between Win95 and the modem into a file called
"Modemlog.txt" in the Windows directory. Try connecting to your ISP,
disconnect, then load that file into notepad. Another trick is that the
inconspicuous box labeled "extra settings" above it, is in fact a place
where you can put an additional initialization string which is sent to
the modem LAST. (After Win95's own calculated strings)

This means you can use it to add extra settings (for example I have ATW2
to force my modem to report connect speed correctly) or you can use it
to completely override the modem drivers built in "calculated" (based on
the checkbox settings) values by using a string of the form AT&F.....

Handy if you cant find the right modem driver....

Simon
