That's what I've found, after having had no joy doing the downloads
with something else.

Yep.  I've got one called Telnet.fbk that I load when I want to use
TFW as a telnet client.  (I got a big list of telnet boards, but the
old FonBook program converts something like less than 10% of the list
entries.)

I've been keeping TFW up, minimized.  The only "trick" to doing it is
that one's got to change the connect device to Telnet and ignore the
error messages so it'll release the port for AOL's use then "change"
the port to telnet again after AOL's connected.  (AOL, OTOH, releases
the port when you sign off and doesn't open it until/unless you try
dialing into AOL.)
