Yep. Also a few deaths due to carbon monoxide from using barbeques and gas
generators for heating purposes. One mobile trailer burned down yesterday
from someone using a propane oven left open as a heat source but she wasn't
home at the time. She lost a number of pett cats though. Also a home
outside of Victoria caught fire due to a piece of furniture being too close
to a wood burning stove (nobody home when it caught fire). Looks like the
fallout was more dangerous then the actual storm. I did hear of two people
being crushed by a tree outside of Seattle but that was a previous wind
storm. We got nailed by three in a row with Port Alberni catching the
brunt of the first two and much property damage there. The last one I
think Victoria caught the brunt of it and saw some property damage on the
news from there (falling trees although one apartment building lost a fair
bit of it's roof).

Yes but at least you aren't living with the fallout. As of today it is
still a mess but things are starting to come back to life. Still a bit of
an adventure and I hear Christmas shopping over on the mainland is on hold
due to store closures where the power has yet to be restored. The biggest
hassel here on the Island at the moment is with phone service. I think
most, if not all, of the power everywhere on the Island has be restored.

Life is good,
Maurice
