True, but the DVD can digitally output a 24/96 signal to an outboard DAC
so you can still take advantage of the high-resolution signal *once*
affordable DAC's (multi-channel?) become available to support 24/96.

recordings as a glass of marbles versus a glass of water. With 96 khz 24
bit digital what would he write?  A glass of beads or something? I'm
waiting 'til the price comes down a bit, but how long can it be 'til DVD
players are like CD and less than $100?  I guess mid' 99.  -- K.P.
