ST> ZH> I am using Qedit 3.0 and what to know how to use the sort function
ST> ZH> to sort text??

ST> Before using the sort command you need to mark the text you want sorted
ST> with the Column Block (Alt-K). Put the cursor at the beginning of the
ST> text to be sorted and type Alt-K, then press the End key to move the
block
ST> to the end of the line. Use the Down Arrow and/or Page Down key to move
ST> the block down while watching for lines that are longer than the first
ST> line, using the End key again if you need to widen the block. At the end
ST> of the text you want to sort, type Alt-K again to mark the end of the
ST> block. Then, if you didn't change the key assignments that are in
ST> qconfig.dat, type shift-F3 to sort. It will only sort text marked with
the
ST> column block, not the line block or the 'markbegin/markend block.
Ah!! Thank you very much! No wonder it never worked for because I always
used the mark begin/mark end block thinking as long as the text was
highlighted I could sort it. I will try the column block.
Does the column block have any restrictions on how it sorts or does it have
limitations?
Sincerely,
Zsolt Hengsperger
