Hi Bill,
BS} First of all I miss the message swapping to disk
} in some of the macros that I have written.
I wondered if anyone would miss that! I can make it an option
on the Swap to Disk switch. So EXEC-S would give the message and
EXEC-S0 would not.
BS} I am sure that others will argue that the
} message is a nuisance
They already did. But now they'll have a choice.
BS} Also I am not really clear on what you are
} trying to accomplish with your macro expansion.
} Maybe a few examples would shed some light on
} this.
The main reason for this is so you can have variables in a file.
For example, in a BBS macro (like Macro BBS) you might want to have
file that displays with the current caller's name. Like this:
Hi, Bill! You have just connected to the most wonderful BBS in
the world!
There was no way to make "Bill" a variable and change it when the
file is read in. Now you can have:
Hi, %name! You have just connected to the most wonderful BBS
in the world!
Then you can read each line into "temp" and expand any variables
with this:
{setv-s2 temp,%temp}
BS} I tried to get your Beta from the internet and
} found a copy of Commo 6.5 in the directory but
} no Commo Beta.
I think Jim Bennett uploaded 6.5a and apparently it didn't get moved
for a while (look in /pub/inbound if you can't find it). I uploaded
6.5b there and I hope David has moved it.
