I've read another couple of articles about it, but the facts are pretty much
as portrayed in the film. The two ag trucks set out from the US to be
delivered to Australia and his mate crashed at Pago Pago on take off.
Actually why his ADF and mag compass played up I think was far more
complicated than protrayed, but on the whole the film was close to the
magazine articles I read. This was nearly 20 years ago (that I read them) so
I'm afraid I can't give you much more than that.
