I posted some pictures of my split ring mount at
http://martin.cibulski.bei.t-online.de/split_ring_mount_en.htm
It was my first ATM project last year and was built for my old 4.5"
newton telescope.
For this scope it is oversized because at that time I planned to build a
10" scope.
The mount has been built for a fixed latitude of 52ø (+- some degrees).
Actually it is a mixture of a split ring and a fork mount. The short fork
allowed to built the ring a little smaller. The bottom bearing of the mount
is adjustable. The declination bearings are held in adjustable plates so
the axis can be made perpendicular to the other.
Currently there are only pictures of the mount on my site. So if you have
questions, let me know.
Best regards,
Martin Cibulski
